4) Faith

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17 NASB

How else can it come? If you never hear that God has promised all of those whom He has called, how can we know? How can we have faith, genuine faith?

I suggest we can't.
I've just about finished the book Knowledge of the Holy by AW Tozer.
God is SO Unbelievable and Indescribable!

Merry Christmas

Numbers 6:24-26 -
The LORD bless you, and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.'

Luke 2:10-11 -
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring your good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Love, Peace, Hope of Jesus Christ be with you all

3) Obedience

One I struggle with, but am encouraged that all happens through Christ who loves and dies to redeem, fulfill justice and mercy all at the same time.

1 Samuel 15:22 -
Samuel said,
"Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
as in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
and to heed than the fat of rams."

Matthew 28:18-20 -
Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Galatians 3:27 -
For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

2) Nothing of ourselves

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe...

Romans 5:8 continues to humble me...

Even while we were sinners, Christ died for us.

For, and through, and because of God's love...

and nothing of ourselves

1) The One Unchangeable God

As I read The Knowledge of the Holy, by A.W. Tozer, I can't help but be even more worship-filled as I see how God's attributes make His grace even more amazing.

Tozer recognizes (years ago) that some have put God's love over the fact that He is just, or God's goodness high enough to contradict His holiness, His compassion trumps His truth. Some people elevate God's sovereignty so His goodness and love become less. Which are all wrong.

God does not lessen one attribute to increase more in another. He is UNCHANGEABLE and UNCHANGING.

The love He has for us now is the same love He had for Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We make the same mistakes, and separate ourselves from God in the same ways they did. One fact remains, even while we were steeped in sin, Jesus paid it all on the cross at Calvary.

Why?

A good friend of mine turned me on to being purposeful in all things. Even more specifically, being purposeful in my walk with God.
I came to know Jesus Christ as the Lord of my life a little over 9 years ago. Since that time, the Lord God has allowed my faith to grow. Slow at times and other times rapidly. Over the past few years I have supplemented my daily devotional time with sermons and books.
As God teaches me, I would like to share and encourage others as I am led.

My mentor and great friend encouraged me to journal to keep a record of what the Lord has been teaching me and allow God to help me think out some of these things a little more to build confidence in my beliefs and convictions, all for the glory of God. Therefore, the purpose of this blog is to write down, in journal form, the wisdom the Lord has been teaching me to have record for me, my wife, my children and my children's children. It is also in the hopes that it will bear much fruit to those who read it.

The title comes from Romans 11:33 which says,
"Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!"

The more God teaches me through His Word, the more it blows me away that the Creator of everything deeply desires a relationship with His creation.
